Rawya’s pottery in Tunis village
Rawya Adb EL Kadr joined pottery school of Evelyne Porret in Tunis village when she was 13 years old.
She decided to start her own pottery in 2002 when she was 24 and succesfully developed her own style and built up a good reputation in pottery. The gallery and atelier are next to her house where she lives with her husband Mohamed Hosni and her 3 daughters. Her brothers have opened their own atelier recently.
Her pottery is sold in galleries in Zamalek, Cairo for very attractive prices.
Most of her female fellow pottery students marry and stop working. Rawya is the first and only Egyptian female potter in Tunis village, a strong and determined business woman and excellent designer.
