Rawya Adb EL Kadr joined pottery school of Evelyne Porret in Tunis village when she was 13 years old.
Evelyne Porret, a Swiss lady who came to Tunis some 25 years ago, settled down and established a pottery school.
Rawya was her student and developed her skills from young age. She was able to generate an income for her family and worked after school hours. She decided to start her own pottery in 2002 when she was 24 and succesfully developed her own style and built up a good reputation in pottery. The gallery and atelier are next to her house where she lives with her husband Mohamed Hosni and her 3 daughters. Her brothers have opened their own atelier recently.
Her pottery is sold in galleries in Zamalek, Cairo for very attractive prices.
Most of her female fellow pottery students marry and stop working. Rawya is the first and only Egyptian female potter in Tunis, a strong and determined business woman and excellent designer.
You are welcome in her atelier and gallery in Tunis. Always a cup of tea for you.
